“BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK-AVONDALE/AUBURN HILLS"
FEEDING HUNGRY CHILDREN
September 9, 2023 - “Blessings in a Backpack - Avondale/Auburn Hills” feeds Avondale School District children who would otherwise go hungry on the weekends, nearly 90% of those are elementary aged students. https://blessingsinabackpackmi.org/avondale-auburn-hills/
There were ten participants in this years Cook Off supporting this cause; Wendy Binder, Mary Hundich, Joan Arndt, Sue Hogan, Dennis Hogan, Doug Fisher, Sarah Borgesen, Charles Mann, Ron Mclaughlin and Bob Waltenspiel. Each participant provided their own style of chili. We had everything from Mild to Hot and everything in between. This years competition was open to all types of chilies and was decided by popular vote.
Our 2023 D.A.S.V. Foundation Chili Cook Off winner was Joan Arndt (Bean Chili) with Sarah Borgesen (White Chicken Chili) coming in a very close second. Thank you to all the participants who cooked some wonderful chili and those who came out to support this very important cause. It was a wonderful afternoon sharing in everyone's company and enjoying tasting everyone's chili.
